Inaugural KIKWETU HONORS, 2018.
Updated: Apr 5, 2018
The #Kikwetunights #AfroSoul #Soiree was a magical evening filled with delicious African Food, Beautiful Music and Heart Warming conversation.
The evening was layered with beautiful experiences... First of its kind in San Francisco, the guests came decked out in their favorite formal African Attire, and boy were they gorgeous!
To start off the experience, Chef Ascender of Radio Africa Kitchen took the guests on a tantalizing journey through Africa with a mouth watering spread of East, West, South, North and Central Africa, as they were serenaded with beautiful Afro-Brazilian rhythms from Namorados Da Lua.

The inaugural #KIKWETUHONORS recognized Africans in the Bay Area who are doing exemplary work in their communities. Efie Tesfahun, founder of the Umoja Festival; Byb Bibene, director of Kiandanda Dance Theater, Ciiku Ndungu-Case, founder of Cheza Nami Foundation as well as Chef Ascender owner of Radio Africa Kitchen were the 2018 Honorees.

The highlight of the evening was the Keynote Speaker. The gorgeous and amazingly talented Constance Ejuma. Recently featured in Marvel's #blackpanther movies as one of the #DoraMilaje, King T'chala's personal body guards, her story is a true representation of what #Wakanda represents for all of us. Her story was poignant, beautifully and gracefully told!
